Stuffed Green Peppers Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp of butter (unsalted)
4 pcs of bell peppers (green); cored, seeded, and rinsed
1-1/2 lbs of sirloin (ground)
1/2 lb of sausage (ground)
1 pc of onion (white, small); diced finely
6 pcs of tomatoes (Roma)
2 tsps of garlic; crushed
or
1/2 tsp of garlic (powder)
6 oz of Feta cheese (fresh); crumbled
1/2 c of grated cheese (Parmesan or Romano)
1/2 c of shredded cheese (Mozzarella)
Oregano (to taste)
Seasoned Pepper (to taste)
Fennel Seed (to taste)
Instructions:
Spray PAM on a baking dish. Cook the sausage and sirloin on a saucepan above moderate heat, while stirring occasionally. When meat has cooked, drain excess fat then add butter, garlic, onion, tomatoes, and seasonings. Simmer above gentle heat for 20 mins.
Preheat the oven at 350 degrees F. Fill the mixture onto cleaned peppers, alternating them with Parmesan and Feta. Arrange the stuffed peppers on the prepared dish, then add the rest of Roma tomatoes around stuffed peppers. Place remaining meat around the stuffed peppers then sprinkle over remaining cheeses.
Spread over shredded (Mozzarella) cheese. Bake inside preheated oven for half an hour till bubbly and browned.
