Pork Chops & Sauerkraut Recipe
Ingredients:
16 pcs of pork chops (center-cut , 1/2″ thick); trimmed well
2 Tbsps drippings of bacon
Pepper (freshly-ground)
Salt
2 Tbsps of mustard (hot, prepared, Dusseldorf or Dijon)
2 lbs of sauerkraut; thoroughly drained
8 pcs of bacon slices (crispy); diced
1 c of tart apples (green); peeled & diced
1 tsp of caraway fruits
Instructions:
Brown chops drippings of bacon; making sure all sides are browned. Sprinkle w/ pepper then salt; rubbing chops w/ mustard all throughout. Combine the sauerkraut, caraway fruits and apples in a large pan then arrange pork chops over the top, overlapping each other slightly.
Preheat the oven (350 degrees F). With tight cover, bake for half an hour and uncover then bake for another half an hour.
Transfer the sauerkraut and chops into a heated, deep platter then sprinkle w/ crispy bacon. Serves 8; each serving contains 7.4 grams of carbohydrate.
