Beef Stew Recipe
Ingredients:
1-1/2 lbs of beef (stew); cubed to 1-1/2 inches
1 Tbsp of herbs (Herbes de Provence)
1 tsp of pepper (black, freshly ground)
2 Tbsps of oil (olive oil)
1 tsp of paprika
1 c of pearl onions (frozen)
2 pcs of garlic cloves; crushed
2 c of wine (red, Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot)
2 tsps of salt
2 Tbsps of thickener (ThickenThin Not/Starch)
1 pc of carrot (fresh);, cut to 1-inch ribbons using a peeler
1 lb of beans (green); cut to 1-inch pieces
2 Tbsps of butter
Instructions:
Heat the oven at 325 degrees F. Combine beef, herbs, salt, pepper, and paprika; toss them well. Heat a tablespoon of oil inside a (Dutch) oven above moderately high heat then brown beef, by 2 batches; transfer on a mixing bowl and set on the side.
Melt the butter inside the (Dutch) oven then add the onions and cook for 7-8 mins till golden. Add the garlic on the last two mins of its cooking. Add the meat along with its juices, two cups of water, and wine; let it boil.
Place the (Dutch) oven, covered, inside the oven and cook for two hrs till beef becomes soft. Add beans and cook for another 15 mins. Transfer the (Dutch) oven onto the stove above moderately high heat then add the carrot and cook for 5 mins. Add the thickener and cook for another 2 mins till sauce becomes thick.
