Beef Lettuce Cups Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp of sherry (dry)
1 pc of garlic clove; crushed or minced
1 pc of ginger (fresh); peeled and grated
1/4 tsp of five-spice (powder)
1 tsp of chili (sauce)
1 Tbsp of oil (vegetable oil)
6 pcs of scallions; diagonally sliced
1 pc of pepper (red, small); seeded and diced
Parsley sprigs (to garnish)
8 pcs of lettuce cups (crisp, to serve); chilled
2 Tbsps of soy sauce (light)
12 ounces of steak (rump); slivered thinly
Instructions:
Place the steak inside a mixing bowl then add sherry, soy (sauce), garlic, ginger, chili (sauce), and five-spice; mix thoroughly. Marinate inside the refrigerator, covered, for one hour; stir frequently. Heat the oil inside a wok or skillet then add diced pepper and onion; stir-fry them for one min.
Add the marinated beef then stir-fry them for 2 to 3 mins; stir constantly. Transfer mixture on a hot serving platter. Serve immediately with lettuce and garnish parsley sprigs. To eat, spoon the mixture of beef onto lettuce; roll or fold then eat right away.
