Asian Sesame Steak Recipe
Ingredients:
1-1.25 lbs of steak (top sirloin)
1/2 c of broth (beef)
1/4 c of sherry (dry)
1 Tbsp of ginger (fresh); minced
1 tsp of cornstarch
2 tsps of butter (unsalted)
2 tsps of peanut oil (or olive oil)
1-2 tsps of sesame oil (Asian, toasted)
2-3 pcs of scallions; sliced thinly or slivered lengthwise
2 Tbsps of soy sauce
Instructions:
Cut the steak equally into four pieces. Place one piece in between plastic wrappers. Pound using a mallet into 1/2 or 1/3 inch thick. Do the same to all.
Combine broth, soy sauce, broth, cornstarch, and ginger inside a bowl; mix thoroughly and set on the side. Melt the butter on oil inside a nonstick skillet above moderately high heat till hot. Add the steak and cook till brown on each side but pink on its center, turn once. Transfer on a serving platter; keep them warm or hot.
Stir the mixture of broth and add onto the skillet. Increase the heat into high; let it boil while stirring constantly. Continue boiling and stirring for a minute or two till slightly thick. Pour the sauce onto the steaks; drizzle some sesame oil and sprinkle scallions.
